Big Brother: Halfwit and Sophia up for eviction

Freddie Fisher, aka Halfwit, and Sophia Brown are the first 'Big Brother' hopefuls to be nominated for the boot by this year's housemates. The pair received six nominations each and will be up for eviction via the public vote on Friday.

Noirin Kelly, 25, was one of those who nominated Halfwit, 23, who usually lives in a stately home, saying: "I can't stand the way he talks. It really irritates me and it kind of creeps me out."

She also nominated 26-year-old Brown, from London, because "she's slagging people and being non pro-active with things in the house... I just think sometimes she can be very stubborn... and she can kind of be really aggressive as well".

Earlier, there were tears in the Big Brother house as contestants waited to find out who would be the next to be evicted. One of their number, Beinazir Lasharie, has already been voted off this year's show.

The 28-year-old study support assistant from London was evicted after failing to earn housemate status.

The remaining inhabitants of this year's house have had to nominate each other for eviction for the first time. The results of the vote were revealed on Big Brother's Little Brother, hosted by George Lamb.

Earlier this week, Saffia Corden, another contestant, was branded "selfish" by Kidscape children's charity, for leaving her two children in order to appear on the Channel 4 reality show.
