A native American Indian dog snatched a newborn baby named, Alexander James Smith. The baby is now in critical condition at the University of Kentucky Hospital. The baby was snatched by the dog from his crib. The native American Indian dog, named Dakota, is the family's pet so it has a free roam in the house. 
Baby Alexander has just arrived from the hospital where he was born and he was placed in an upstarirs crib; the dog got to him and took him in its mouth and brought him outside and into the woods. The crying baby got his father's attention, Michael Smith ran to the woods and found his crying baby with cuts and puncture wounds to his body and face.
Jessamine County Deputy Sheriff said the family had two Native American Indian dogs and a Labrador and the dog had “a history of grabbing things off counters and hiding things.” No charges have been filed and the dog was taken, but not yet destroyed, by Jessamine County Animal Control officers.
