Brett Johnson death takes the world of Dallas TV by surprise; he died today at 48 after complications with pancreatitis at Fort Worth hospital. Brett was a veteran reporter for NBC 5 where he worked since 1996.
Brett died at Baylor All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, where he was admitted Wednesday after complaining of stomach pain. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis, which led to other complications, his family said.
Brett joined NBC 5 in September 1996 after working several years at KDFW-TV Fox 4. He previously worked in Waco, Wichita Falls and Oklahoma City.
Brett was a big fan of the Texas culture and it was always said that “he was more comfortable wearing a cowboy hat than wearing a suit”. He became famous presenting feature sotries, and he really seemed to excel in features related to music.
