Famous Daytone Beach Harley Davidson dealer, Bruce Rossmeyer, died after a motorcycle accident on Thursday (July 30) at the age of 66. Bruce is survived by his wife Sandy and five children.
Rossmeyer oversaw one of the largest motorcycle empires in the world. His Florida-based chain also included dealerships in Massachusetts, Colorado, Mississippi and Tennessee. He also launched Destination Daytona, a hotel-retail development surrounding his Harley dealership in Ormond Beach, Fla.
Ironically Bruce was on his way to the Sturgis bike rally in South Dakota when he tried to pass an SUV with a trailer attached, the driver didn’t see him, pulled into his lane and hitting his bike.
