The San Francisco Giants announced the death of Sue Burns moments ago. Sue Burns, wife of Harmon Burns, has died at age 58 of cancer.Sue Burns (9 Aug 1950 – 19 Jul 2009)was an American businesswoman, who was the senior general partner (principal owner and largest shareholder) of the San Francisco Giants baseball franchise.
Broadcaster Mike Krukow issued the following statement to MLB today:
“It’s so sad that she’s gone, and it’s so sudden and unexpected that it’s overwhelmed all of us with emotion. We’re all trying to deal with the loss.
“I totally expect her to be back in her seat when we get back to AT&T Park. It’s just a bitter reminder of how fragile life is. She was a gift.”
Burns was born in Anchorage, Alaska on 9 August 1950. She earned a degree at California State University-Hayward and was a teacher from 1983–1992.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced. Send your love. Sue Burns will be greatly missed. Burns is survived by daughters Trina and Tori.
