The actor who became famous for the slogan, “You’re in good hands with Allstate” died earlier today at his daughter’s upstate NY home, his family confirmed.Ed Reimers-Ed Reimers-Ed Reimers-Ed Reimers-Ed Reimers-Ed Reimers
Reimers,was a longtime resident of Brentwood, California, but moved in 2007 to Saratoga Springs after the death of his wife. Reimers started with Allstate in 1957. He would become the announcer on “Maverick” and Johnny Carson’s “Who Do You Trust” appearing also in episodes of “Star Treck”
In addition to his 22 years with the insurance company, he was also known as the announcer for the popular TV western “Maverick,” and the game show, “Who Do you Trust?”
Reimer is survived by his daughter, Kathryn, two grandsons and a niece.
Cause of death is unknown. Funeral arrangements have not been announced. Ed Reimers will be greatly missed.
