Holly Sweeney, girlfriend of professional Irish golfer, Rory McIlroy, is having a hard time learning how to deal with being in the spotlight but still wants to keep a low profile, staying in the background while her boyfriend shines.
Holly Sweeney, golf star Rory McIlroy’s 16 year old Girlfriend,Rory told the Belfast Telegraph:
“Holly is quite shy. This is the first time she has been in the media spotlight and she has handled herself really well, but I think she doesn’t want to turn into a typical girlfriend of a sports person, so she likes to take a back seat.
There is obviously a lot of attention now and we don’t want to turn into a typical Posh and Becks-type couple. We just want to lie under the radar.”
Rory is the youngest player to make the top 50. The 20 year-old was invited to U.S. Masters in April 2009, only 18 months after turning pro and his first professional win came when he won the Dubai Desert Classic on 1 February 2009, this win took him to 16th in the world rankings.
