Paula Abdul Not in American Idol : 9th season

Space cadet Paula Abdul announced on her Twitter Tuesday night that she won’t be returning for the 9th season of the popular singing competition American Idol.According to David Sonenberg, the manager of Paula Abdul, his client has not receive a contract offer to return to the series.

Paula Abdul : With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to #IDOL. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all.What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me.

It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month

Last week, Ryan Seacrest agreed to a three-year, $45 million deal to continue as host of American Idol; while Randy Jackson is signed through 2011 and Kara DioGuardi has expressed interest in returning.

Simon Cowell's contract runs through next year, as negotiations continue to keep him around for many more seasons.
