Collin Wilcox Dead(photo) battle against brain cancer

Actress Collin Wilcox, best known for her role as a rape victim in “To Kill A Mockingbird”, died after a long battle against brain cancer at her home in Highlands, North Carolina last week (October 14). Collin was 74 years old and is survived by her husband Scott Paxton and their children, Kimberley and Michael.

Her cross examination as a child by Atticus Finch (Gregory Peck) was a classic. Even moreso, Mockingbird was just her first major film.

Other credits for Collin Wilcox included The Twilight Zone, Playhouse 90, The Waltons, and Columbo. Paxton was 74 and passed from brain cancer in Highlands, North Carolina.

In the 1990s, her credits included Carriers, The Crying Game, Amercian Gothic, and Christy. Her latest reported credit was A Touch of Fate in 2003.

She made her professional debut in Chicago as part of the improvisational group, The Compass Players, which included Mike Nichols, Elaine May, and Shelley Berman. In 1958 Wilcox won the Clarence Derwent Award for her performance in The Day Money Stopped on Broadway. She starred in the 1961 play Look, We've Come Through with Burt Reynolds on Broadway.
