David Edenfield has been sentenced to death for the murder and molestation of six year old Christopher Barrios. David Edenfield was convicted yesterday of murder, false imprisonment, three counts of aggravated child molestation, two counts of cruelty to children, one count of concealing a death and one count of tampering with evidence.
Edenfield was the first of three family members to stand trial in the case. His wife and their 34-year-son have also been charged with abducting, molesting and killing the boy.
Now the prosecutors will focus on David co defenders his wife Peggy and son George. Peggy Edenfield will not receive the death penalty if convicted as she cooperated with the prosecutors by testifying against her husband.
