Authorities were still looking yesterday afternoon for a North Carolina man who escaped from the Robeson County jail by assaulting a guard while he was heading to see the doctor.Jamal McRae is wanted for escaping from a North Carolina jail where he was waiting to go on trial for some serious charges.
Jamal McRae faked chest pains so the guards would bring him to the hospital and once outside the custody facility McRae assaulted one of the guards and took off for the hills.
There seems to be conflicting reports on why McRae was in jail with one story being he forced a man into a car on March 29, then shot at him as he escaped and ran away and the other story is he raped and kidnapped a seventeen year old girl around the same time. In either case the streets will be safer with Jamal McRae behind bars.

he committed both crimes march 26th. no conflict. he took the man and shot at him that morning and took the 17 year old later and kept her for several hours raping her and keeping her in the trunk
