Kevin Laue Phtos Basketball player with one hand

Kevin Laue has proven that sports is for everyone, even those who have only one hand can have their place in it. Kevin Laue is a basketball player with one hand who gets to play college basketball. He is at present on a scholarship to play basketball at Manhattan College. Can he really play? Don't underestimate him, he can play like those with two hands.

When asked what it's like to be in a basketball court playing with those who have two hands, Laue has this to say:

"It's to my advantage, they think they're going to have an easy game and just whip on some one-handed kid. But I think I've surprised a couple people out there."

After breaking his leg in his senior year of high school in northern California, and failing to get a Division I scholarship, he played a postgraduate season at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, hoping to impress recruiters and scouts. He did, but that didn't seem to be enough, Laue said.

"No matter how well you play, you aren't good enough because you have one hand," he said with some frustration.
