Stephanie Birkitt graduated from Wake Forrest University in 1997. Brkitt then served as an intern writer for Letterman’s “Late Show” in early 1996. Birkitt then went to work at “48 Hours” and she met Halderman as he was the producer for “48 Hours”.
After this, Birkitt returned to work at the “Late Show with David Letterman”. Birkitt was a producer. Then, she applied for the post of Letterman’s assistant.
Birkitt didn’t like the news scene as she said it was too serious for her personality. That was the reason she gave for applying to become Letterman’s assistant.
