Blink-182’s Travis Barker has finally broken the silence twenty four hours after the death of his dear friend Adam Goldstein aka DJ AM was announced. Travis and AM were both survivors in a deadly plane crash back in September 2008, which had strengthen their bond.

DJ AM has been sober for nine years, but sources say the breakup and the stress over the plane crash could have caused him to start using drugs again.

Prescription pill bottles and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found at the scene.His body was removed last night. The friend who called 911 on Friday, prompting cops to enter Goldstein's apartment, told the dispatcher DJ AM had not been seen for two days, but people were still hearing from him Thursday.

DJ AM’s former girlfriend Mandy Moore, who is currently married to Ryan Adams, is said to be devastated with the news and has released the following statement.

Mandy Moore: “I am absolutely heartbroken. For those of us lucky enough to have known him, Adam radiated a contagious exuberance for life and also personified the very definition of a true friend. To say that he will be missed beyond words is an understatement. My heart goes out to his loved ones.”

Obama spoke highly of his friend and colleague Ted Kennedy, describing him as “a champion for those who had none; the soul of the Democratic Party; and the lion of the U.S. Senate.”

Jamie Foxx to New Orleans Fourth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina

Actor and singer Jamie Foxx brought some music and laughter to New Orleans with his "Blame It" tour as the city prepares for the fourth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.He entertained the crowd Thursday night with music and jokes.

Foxx spent several months in New Orleans in 2003 while making "Ray," the film for which he won an Academy Award for his portrayal of singer-pianist Ray Charles.

He performed songs from his latest album, "Intuition," and tributes to Ray Charles and Michael Jackson, singing some of their biggest hits.

At the end, Foxx said a portion of his concert proceeds would be donated to Make It Right, the organization launched by actor-activist Brad Pitt to rebuild homes in the city's devastated Lower 9th Ward.

"This is just a drop in the bucket with what you guys really need out here, but it's a start," Foxx said. "You are not forgotten ... Keep your hopes up. You guys are resilient."

The actor-comedian said a little fun and laughter is just what New Orleans needs as the fourth anniversary of Katrina approaches. The storm, which struck Aug. 29, 2005, flooded 80 percent of New Orleans.

Foxx said he thinks the people of New Orleans deserve attention as they continue rebuilding.

Despite exciting rumors that Adam Lambert would be featured on the New Moon soundtrack, we can now confirm that this won't be the case.But dry those tears, fans: the film has found a suitable replace for the movie's first single.

Brody Jenner and Joe Francis Punched & kicked

Things got a little crazy at Los Angeles hot spot My House on Wednesday night when Brody Jenner and Joe Francis got into a full-fledged fistfight.The “Bromance” stud apparently attacked the “Girls Gone Wild” pornographer after he hit Brody’s girlfriend Jayde Nicole in the head.

Outside the club, Brody tried to get back in to check on Jayde but security wouldn't let him. Jenner then saw and got a clear shot at Joe Francis, punching him in the face. Someone then tasered Brody and he collapsed to the ground.

Francis left the scene, where the cops came, but no one was arrested.

Jayde Nicole, who has a black and blue cheek, a swollen face, a bruised left rib and a sore lower abdomen, says she will press charges against Francis.

Brody Jenner took to (what else) Twitter to speak out this morning: "Joe Francis beat up my lady for no reason! Pulled her to the ground, punched & kicked her. what does that say about him. you call yourself a man when you beat up a girl??"

The answer to the question of "who won HOH tonight" is Kevin. In a very hard-fought challenge between Kevin, Natalie, Jordan, and Michele, Kevin was able to win the head of household, and with it take the power of the house for the next week.

It now means that Kevin gets to nominate two people for eviction, and can protect his alliance member Natalie for another week in the house. It is the first time that Kevin has won head of household in the house, and it excited everyone to be able to see Kevin's boyfriend for the first time in pictures that he was given in the house.

He hosted mornings in Atlanta, and Charlotte, NC at WPEG Power 98. Nate met radio experts Skip Murphy and The Wig.

He says that they treated him like family and took him in and taught him what it was to be a great radio personality which what he learned he took with him into the present day. Nate did say that he loved to surround himself with the Dallas-Fort Worth KRNB family.

Reimers,was a longtime resident of Brentwood, California, but moved in 2007 to Saratoga Springs after the death of his wife. Reimers started with Allstate in 1957. He would become the announcer on “Maverick” and Johnny Carson’s “Who Do You Trust” appearing also in episodes of “Star Treck”

In addition to his 22 years with the insurance company, he was also known as the announcer for the popular TV western “Maverick,” and the game show, “Who Do you Trust?”

Reimer is survived by his daughter, Kathryn, two grandsons and a niece.

Cause of death is unknown. Funeral arrangements have not been announced. Ed Reimers will be greatly missed.

The 2009 NYC Half-Marathon started at 7AM and just after over an hour, winners for both men and women categories were declared.Sunday's NYC Half-Marathon brought previous winners and, as expected, the best runners prevailed.

Tadese Tola of Ethiopia and Paula Radcliffe of Great Britain won the NYC Half-Marathon in dominating fashion on Sunday, August 16. Among the men, Ridouane Harroufi of Morocco and Ryan Hall of the United States finished second and third, respectively.

Guillain Barre syndrome symptoms Rare nerve disorder

UK Doctors are being urged to watch for cases of Guillain-Barre syndrome, which is a rare nerve disorder. The statement was issued in time for the new swine flu vaccine that will be introduced in October.

Guillain-Barre syndrome which attacks the nervous system and can cause paralysis and death is linked to infections like flu but it has also been suggested a previous swine flu vaccine had caused cases of the disease in America in the 1970s.

American officials rushed out a vaccine in 1976 following an outbreak of swine flu in military barracks. Around 40million people received the vaccine but doctors reported an increase Guillain-Barre and 25 people had died before the immunisation programme was stopped.

Sources told the Daily Telegraph that experts are not expecting to spot any cases linked to the vaccinations.

They added that because Guillain-Barre can be caused by infections like flu, the new programme may in fact establish that vaccinations actually protect against the syndrome.The syndrome affects around 1,500 people a year in the Britain.

Officers administered a sobriety test, which Kurt Angle failed. The former Olympic gold medalist refused a blood test, and was charged with driving under the influence and wreckless driving.

Kurt Angle has reportedly previously claimed dating Khan. Following the arrest of Angle, reports indicated investigators identified the alleged victim as a pro wrestler.

Trenesha Biggers was born in 1982, on December 25. Biggers shares her birthday with Christmas. Biggers wrestles for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) using her stage name of Rhaka Khan.

Jim Dickinson Dead Due to heart and intestinal bleeding problems

Musician/producer Jim Dickinson died after a long stay in the hospital due to of heart and intestinal bleeding problems in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday morning (August 15).“He went peacefully,” said his wife, Mary Lindsay Dickinson, adding that her husband remained in good spirits until the end.

“He had a great life. He loved his family and music. And he loved Memphis music, specifically.”The 67 year-old had recently had a bypass surgery and was still recovering at the Methodist University Hospital, according to his wife Mary Lindsay Dickinson. R.I.P. Jim Dickinson.

Tropical Storm Ana formed in the Atlantic early Saturday morning, and forecasters say it could bring heavy rain to Florida, Ana is not expected to grow into a hurricane, but could get somewhat stronger as it moves through the Carribean.

The National Hurricane Center in MIAMI said The first tropical storm of the 2009 Atlantic hurricane season formed Saturday, Tropical Storm Ana may pick up speed, minimum winds is 40 miles per hour and approach the Islands by Monday. It was 1,010 miles east of the Islands early Saturday.

Shahrukh Khan detained and questioned In US airport more than two hours

India's Bollywood film Super stars, Shahrukh Khan, was detained and questioned by immigration officials at a US airport for more than two hours, news reports said.
Khan, one of the Indian film industry's biggest stars, said he was detained because his name came up on a computer alert list at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, Press Trust of India news agency said.

'He was detained because his surname is Khan. He was kept until officials from the Indian embassy intervened. Now he has been released,' Khan's manager Niloufer Qureshi said from Mumbai.

'I was taken to a room for questioning. They said my name kept popping up on the computer,' Khan said on a telephone interview on NDTV news channel.

"Shah Rukh Khan, the actor and global icon, is a very welcome guest in the United States. Many Americans love his films," Roemer said Saturday through an embassy spokesman.

Allen Shellenberger Death, Popular rock band Lit will be missed

Allen Shellenberger, drummer of the popular rock band Lit died yesterday after a long battle with brain cancer. He was only 39 years old.Last year, Shellenberger was diagnosed with this type of cancer, and he started chemotherapy and radiation treatments at the Cedars-Sinai Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute.

Shellenberger founded Lit in Fullerton in 1990s. Today Lit issued the following statement about Allen’s passing:

“To know Al was to know laughter.

“He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Words cannot begin to express how much he will be missed. This was our brother and not a day will go by that we won’t think about him. Right now we’re trying to find the balance of mourning his loss and celebrating his life.

“Allen has experienced more in his 39 years than most people dream of in 10 lifetimes. This is a tremendous loss for us, our fans and also for Allen’s family who took such good care of him during his battle with cancer.

Unfortunately, these treatments aren’t a safe bet to survive cancer and leave people weak, sad and still with the cancer! Our thoughts go to his family. He has one daughter, Giovanna Mackey.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced. Allen Shellenberger will be greatly missed.

He was 94.Les Paul funeral arrangements will be private, says EMI Music. Les Paul will have one funeral in New York that is public followed by a second service and a memorial.

Mr. Paul’s influence on modern-day music and the ways it is captured are hard to describe, but Dave Berryman, president of ‘Gibson’ who built and sold his guitars told the BBC, “Les was not only one of the world’s greatest innovators but a legend who contributed to the success of musicians around the world.”

As reward for his rare contribution to the creation of music, Les Paul was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1978 and the ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ Hall of Fame in 1988.

“Les Paul is survived by his three sons Lester (Rus) G. Paul, Gene W. Paul and Robert (Bobby) R. Paul, his daughter Colleen Wess, son-in-law Gary Wess, long time friend Arlene Palmer, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.“

The family adds the following:

“The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Les Paul Foundation, 236 West 30th Street, 7th Floor, New York, New York 10001.“

Les Paul will be greatly missed.

Economy Today : Colonial Bank will be bought by BB&T

CNN reports: Colonial Bank is on the "brink of collapse", a federal judge said, ruling in favor of Bank of America in a suit seeking to bar Colonial from liquidating or transferring $1 billion in assets. Colonial Bank is owned by Montgomery, Ala.-based parent Colonial BancGroup.

Through an agreement with the FDIC, Colonial Bank will be acquired by BB&T Bank. Previously, a federal judge said Colonial Bank was on the brink of collapse.

Trouble has been brewing recently for Colonial. Its mortgage lending division has been the focus of a federal investigation and last month, it released a statement suggesting the bank wouldn't be able to last much longer.

Colonial Bank has 355 branches in five states-- Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Nevada and Texas.

Troubled Colonial BancGroup will be bought by rival BB&T Friday, the government said after state regulators closed the bank whose assets had been frozen by a federal judge.

The Montgomery, Ala., bank, which has 346 branches spread across Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Nevada, and Texas, is the sixth largest bank failure in U.S. history and by far the largest failure of 2009.

With $25 billion in assets and $20 billion in deposits, Colonial is 100 times larger than the typical bank to have failed this year.

BB&T (BBT, Fortune 500) will buy $22 billion of Colonial's assets, as well as its deposits and branches, leaving the remaining assets in the hands of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

Landon Donovan Caught by swine flu : Donovan reportedly unsure to play

Landon Donovan has swine flu, says a report.he tested positive for the H1N1 flu virus, better known as swine flu SI.com reports.Donovan first learned of swine flu after playing the 90 minute World Club Qualifier in Mexico City this week. But Donovan says he contracted the virus in the U.S., not in Mexico.

Donovan saw a doctor who took a swab sample from his nose and confirmed the illness.

Donovan assisted on Charlie Davis' goal in the eighth minute against Mexico but wasn't much of a factor after that in a 2-1 loss.

"I haven't felt that way in a game in a long time," Donovan told SI. "I just felt lethargic, slow. I didn't feel normal."

"I just felt real bad and finally went to see the doctor. They took a swab from my nose and confirmed it, so that was that."

Donovan is reportedly unsure as of Friday if he will play tomorrow’s game against the Seattle Sounders.

Michael’s black Cadillac Escalade and a Honda Accord collided hitting a third car that was stopped at the intersection of East Biddle Street and West Calvert Street in Downtown Baltimore.

The other driver of the car was taken to a local area hospital. Phelps remained at the scene as pictured above speaking to responding law enforcement for roughly 1 hour after the accident.

Michael was not injured in the crash, refused medical treatment and left the scene after talking to cops. A woman in the other car, complained about head and arm pain and was taken to a local hospital. The cause of the accident is still unknown but cops have sure alcohol was not an issue.

At the most star gazers will see between 50 to 150 meteors an hour in the night sky. So don't forget to check this out tonight.

About 100 meteors per hour can be seen streaking across the sky during the shower's peak, NASA astronomers say.

The peak, however, is at about 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday, meaning people in Canada won't get to the see it at its zenith.

The Perseids are named for the location of their appearance in the sky within Perseus, but the actual origin of the meteor shower can be traced to debris left behind from the 109P/Swift-Tuttle comet, which passes through the inner solar system every 130 years.

The message added: “If you hear rumors, don’t believe them, it’s just time.” Brooks & Dunn said they would release a greatest hits album on Sept. 8 and perform a final set of concerts, to be called the Last Rodeo Tour, next year.

After joining up at the suggestion of Tim DuBois, the founder of Arista Nashville Records, Mr. Brooks and Mr. Dunn have released 10 studio albums, including “Waitin’ on Sundown,” “Borderline” and “Red Dirt Road,” and have sold more than 30 million records.

Online Brooks and Dunn confirmed Monday the following to their decades of fans:

“After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it’s time call it a day,” they said.
