About three million homeless and wounded people are waiting for the aid from across the world. They are in awful need of drinking water, foodstuff, medical supplies, clothing, provisional shelter etc. They need to provide the basic provisions to keep their body and soul together. Hence, the yele donations are badly needed at present to help the Haitian public, who is suffering a lot due to earthquake attack.
When Stuart Johnson donated to the Indian Ocean tsunami relief efforts in 2004, he did it the old-fashioned way: with his checkbook.A year later, he wrote another check when Hurricane Katrina hit.
But Johnson, a preservation architect for the San Antonio Conservation Society, turned to his iPhone in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti. With a pair of text messages, he sent money to the American Red Cross and the Yele Haiti Foundation, both organizing donations through a fundraising method called mobile giving.
There are multiple ways for yele donations which include the text messaging from mobile phones. Both The American Red Cross Fund and Yele Haiti Foundation have started accepting donations through the mobile phone in the name of mobile giving campaign. So, it has become so easy for everybody to send the Yele donation within seconds, by just punching a few numbers on one’s mobile phone.
Geraldine Gray, a Houston-based consultant, texted to donate $10 to the Red Cross after seeing fellow Twitter users announce they had just given as well. Normally wary of texting , she went to the Internet to verify carriers were really participating.
“Once I knew it was real, I sent the text and the whole process took less than a minute,” said Gray . “It was easy.”
Anybody, carrying a phone maintaining an account with some major wireless provider may text “Haiti” to 90999, for donating $ 10 to the American Red Cross.
